> Thrombocytopenia is a common reason for a hematology consult.
> While one should consider ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenia) when a patient presents with a new diagnosis of thrombocytopenia, one needs to consider a wide range of other disorders as well.
This slide shows severe thrombocytopenia.
One must consider a range of processes and diseases, and not assume the patient has ITP.
