Lecture 8: Platelet Function and Pathophysiology

Platelets have a critical role in primary hemostasis.

There are three classic phases of platelet function: (1) Adhesion,
(2) Activation/Secretion,
(3) Aggregation.

A wide range of hereditary and acquired disorders impact platelet function, leading to bleeding​
