Learning Objectives:
Laboratory Tests of Hemostasis Part 1:
1. Describe analytical principles of routine coagulation screening tests and their clinical utilization.
2. Discuss methods and limitations of clot-based assays, immunoassays, and chromogenic assays.
3. Interpret abnormal coagulation screening test results and what additional testing is recommended.

> The Prothrombin Time & activated Partial Thromboplastin Time are clot-based assays, and the core assays to screen for factor deficiencies.

> Modifications of the assays are used for quantitation of specific factor levels.

Starting in 2025, lectures are eligible for Continuing Education Credit.
